Beautiful Leslie Speaker
About the Leslie speaker (from the website):
Don Leslie capitalized on a principle called the “Doppler Effect”. It’s why a train whistle seems to go down in pitch when a train passes you. Don took a horn speaker and made it go around in a circle. And Bingo! a legend was born.
The spinning horn gave the Hammond Organ what is called in the pipe organ world a tremulant. Vibrato, Tremolo, and a little “whoosh” of air all put together. It made the Hammond Organ sound completely different. The Hammond’s life in all popular music-Jazz, Rock, Pop was born at that moment.
And a little more info from Wikipedia...
The Leslie speaker is a combined amplifier and loudspeaker that modifies the sound of an instrument as well as amplifying it, by rotating sound waves. It is most commonly associated with the Hammond organ, though it was later used for the guitar and other instruments. A typical Leslie speaker contains an amplifier along with a treble and a bass speaker, although specific components depend upon the model. Control is achieved by either an external half-moon switch or a foot pedal that alternates between two settings known as "chorale" and "tremolo".
A couple very minor scratches but beautiful condition and works great.
